I wanted to be more elaborate on this, but here are some quick facts:
  • I'm not sure what went wrong, it seems the phrases aren't working anymore so no text is displayed. Also it seeems that you can't access any forums, you will get a no permission message (even I get it). I strongly suspect it's related to the vBulletin version being very old and not supporting newer PHP/MySQL versions.
  • Your posts, PMs, visitor messages etc. won't be lost. They will be converted to a different forum software if I decide to make a switch (very likely)
  • Feel free to post in this forum what you want to keep in touch with each other, I can make sure your new posts here aren't lost either if you want so
  • You aren't forced to use the same username as on the other forums but just mention who you are

It would be very nice to hear from you in case you found your way here. I can't do much until the next weekend, I just don't really have the time.

vBulletin is kind of old news. Xenforo is where it's at but unless I'm going to put down some of the cost for the license, this will do just fine. I might recommend though that some of us migrate here, we may want to have members be manually approved so we don't get spam.

So glad we're active and up and running. I can't wait for Brilliant Diamond to come out.

I don't know for certain, but my guess would be a MySQL table messed up in an update or something.

Oh, man, I was coming around for my yearly/periodic check in to see if everything was okay only to find the forums being completely gone and glitched today. While I definitely am barely active these days on PIF, I wish for the best and still like checking in every once in awhile to see how things are going. I hope the migration goes well.

Vbulletin is such ancient software nowadays that almost everything can go wrong with a single click. Maybe try Xenforo? It's pretty similar to Vbulletin and has public messages. I feel like there aren't many options these days any more for forum software. All that's left is Vbulletin, Xenforo, MyBB, Proboards and Invision Software, if I recall correctly.

Xenforo is a great option but what financial incentive is there for VH to spend for a license if she can't at least break even? If the vB thing no longer works, this is honestly good enough for the few of us who post.

Well, yeah, that's true, I don't mind it if this is where end up making the new PIF if it does come down to it. Forum licenses aren't cheap.

When I bought a vB license in 2007 because I wanted to be a mod so bad and fuss around, it was $120 I think. Of course that was in 2007 dollars compared to now. : /

Some update after a ...while.
I'm sorry to reply this late and letting you down for so long. I don't find so much motivation to post on forums nowadays, not only PI. I also don't get on the computer often, I'm using my phone most of the time.

I started trying out some things for the conversion of the data to a different forum software and it seems to be able to work. I also did some small adjustments to the conversion script to adapt it to my liking.
But it will still take some time for it to be there. I won't make any promises because I'm not sure I can keep them.
It will be MyBB, that doesn't mean we can't switch to anything else later but it's currently the easiest. Sorry for not taking care of this forum, but it's often a lack of motivation and my interests just changed.

Work starts again next week and I have a horrible time management.

All that matters is that you are well and healthy.
