D/P News (Release date, Info on pok´mon and types)

According to the CoroCoro magazine, D/P will not be released in 2005, but in 2006.
There should also be no new types in these games, but some new type-combinations and a lot of new Pokémon.
D/P will also be able to connect with FR/LG/R/S/E for tranferring Pokémon.
D/P will also use Nintendo DS's Wireless feature for allowing 16 players to play at once.

The 16 players feature won't help me at all, since I've got nobody to play with :/
A pity there are no new types.
I hope the new Pokémon will be good....

Oh yeah! Now this is a game that I'll probably go out and get. I've been waiting for a pokemon game worth me actually buying it. The 16-player feature is awsome, now all they have to do is get some online play, I'd be in heaven.

I can't wait for this, for the first time in a while I can't, I hope the Pokemon are awesome, it is a bit too bad there are no new types but that isnt that big of a problem and it is good there are new combinations.

Plus it baing able to transfer Pokemon from the older games just rocks, I never expected that to happen.

The big question is, wil the 16 players be able to battle all at once? That would be awesome (and a little confusing ^^).....
And the fact that you'll be able to trade from GBA was IMO pretty expectable. An interesting detail some people might not realize is that they won't be able to completely remake the pokemon, so the stat system, Ribbons and anything else that is unique for each pokemon. So, there'll probably be no surprises like Abilities & Ribbons were in the early R/S. They might be able to add something small if they thought of it when making R/S though...

I can't wait to see the new Pokémon and new type combinations. It sounds like that they had fun with it ^^ And the tradability makes it even better.
I want to see how they use the 16 people link-up though. That really sounds like an insane number for a battle... maybe there can be some sort of contest that uses 16 people? Or maybe they'll introduce something new.
I was hoping that it would be out this year though T_T Oh well, at least that gives me time to get a DS. ^^;

hey pikah... you do know that there is software that will allow your ds to play over the internet... aka tunneling... so in theory, you do have someone to play with... but it depends if your that advanced or not... and I don't know how it exactly works myself.

I can't wait, I hope they keep contests, but something tells me they won't.. they're innovative, but they leave things behind once they've done them sometimes...

It's for DS and it won't take place in Johto, Kanto or Hoenn.
