Just found some news on the new game Pokemon XD. Thanks to my reliable source Pokemonelite2000. Looks like the game will be in all 3D(well duh) XD is not a sequel to collesium, I repeat: IT IS NOT A SEQUEL! Here's the interview that was givin:
Interview with Nintendo of America's executive vice president of sales and marketing - Reggie Fils-Aime
Back in March 2005, IGN interviewed Reggie Fils-Aime, Nintendo of America's executive vice president of sales and marketing. This is what he had to say about Pokemon XD when asked about it:
IGNcube: Finally, what is Pokemon XD?
Reggie: Pokemon XD is a brand new Pokemon game for GameCube. It's a true RPG Pokemon. It's isn't a sequel to Collosseum. It's a brand new build. A brand new game that really plays off the RPG aspects. So think of it this way. If you loved Ruby and Sapphire, you're going to love Pokemon XD for GameCube.
Pokemon XD at E3
Nintendo of America announced at the Game Developers Conference on Wednesday that Pokemon XD will be released in the US this year. Although a specific date is not yet available.
Pokemon XD is expected to be featured in this years E3, which will be held on May 17th - May 20th at Los Angeles.

A game where you starts with an Eevee and the snagging machine? Hm.... That does seem like a Collosseum sequel......... The screenshots don't show any *major* differences.....
Oh, and the Lugia is simply huggable...... I'm contemplating making a poster of it and hang it over my bed....

I am just wondering why Munchlax is even in this game. We won't know for a while, but since this is not a 4th Generation game, we probably won't be able to catch it, unless a trade could program Munchlax into your cartridge, which odds of that are probably very slim to none. So weird why they would even put Munchlax into a 3rd Generation game, even if we won't be able to catch it.

huh, the Drak Lugia rocks IMO, but the graphics of the other Pokémon don't look any different *sigh*
The people, errm....looka bit strange.
Colossseum's Seth (English name?) looked a lot better.
But I think it's going to be an interesting story and I'm quite happy that there is a game like that again, because I really enjoyed the story mode at colosseum.
About the Munchlax thing, well I think you'll be able to catch it too^^
It might be the only next gen Pokémon you can catch here..so it's kinda like a special thing^^

...actually, it is a sequel to Collossium...
Personally I think it looks awsome, I hope it's bigger and better than the first, and hopefully your character won't walk around lik he's hauling bricks. I always thought he walked really slow.

If the creators have already stated that it isn't a sequel, then it isn't a sequel, even if they are similar. Unless you know that someone else stated otherwise.
I'll sticky this, and merge it with my other one.

...I don't really know how to comment on that. It takes place in Orre, 5 years after the events in Colosseum... it involves shadow pokemon, how can it NOT be a sequel?

Because the creatos said that it wasn't....
We still don't know that much, and from what we've found, it probably will look like it, but its still to early to say so. I thought so at first, as well, but when the people who actually created the game, know its mechanics, and know a lot more than we do, say its not, then its not, until we actually get the game =/
Everything could be totally different from what we think it could be, even misleading, so until then its the creators word, over our own. The creators said that it wasn't a sequel for a reason, and its probably because they knew that 'Collesium Sequel' would be the first thing we think of when we see it.

true, but it sure seems like a sequel, I mean... Shadow pokemon? If it isn't a sequel then they are in big trouble, recycling rather new ideas. Perhaps it isn't a sequel in the sence that it dosn't involve the original trainer...
wait wait wait, Reggie isn't a creator,he's a NoA rep., now if it was say, an NoJ rep or someone who works on the game said that, I'd beleive it. But I've only heard this from Reggie who dosn't seem like the cheif authority on the matter...

I'm not saying that you're just all out wrong. I thought it was a sequel, too, until I saw the creators interview. I'm still skeptical about it, but I'll taketheir word for now. For all we know the shadow pokemon could be apart of a way bigger plot then Collesium. Either that or the creators are just fooling themselves -_-
But we can keep it being a sequel in mind, since its from our own observations, and that's all we can go off of for now. Go ahead and keep it as a fact, I think that it may be fairly accurate ^^

See now, even if it was only a minor sub-plot (and it dosn't seem likely) it would atleast be a spin-off of the original.
I'm still looking forward to it, either way. What isn't cooler than an Evil Lugia?

Maybe, maybe not. We don't know yet. :3
Its sort of like Pokemon Advanced(TV) most people see it as seperate from Ash's prevous adventures in the pokemon league, so it is treated as seperate from the series, but we all still look at it as Pokemon, with some of the same elements, but a lot of new twists.

Well I just looked up abit more info and there is going to be wild Pokemon, but they will not be in grass, they will just be waiting there for a battle, like Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres and Mewtwo in the GBA games.
Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres are going to be obtainable dark Pokemon in XD and they will have there own shadow attacks.
Articuno - Shadow Freeze
Zapdos - Shadow Thunder
Moltres - Shadow Fire
All these Legnedary birds will be at level 50 just like in the GBA games.
It has also been cleared up on how you will evolve your Eevee into any of the 5 evolutions.
Vaporeon - Water Stone
Jolteon - Thunder Stone
Flareon - Fire Stone
Umbreon - Moon Dust
Espeon - Sun Dust
You can buy these items off someone in the game, but you can only do it once, so you have to choose wisely and it looks like there is no Day/Night time factor to evolve it into Umbreon/Espeon anymore and that they have made items that act like stones to evolve them.
Sorry if you knew this already, but what do you think?

I don't think it is a sequel, bad thing is it basically has the same storyline as Colosseum, catch Shadow pokemon then Purify them, i hope it has something more interesting than that, and i hope there's some new towns and places to visit. I think with all the similar things to colosseum it might as well be a sequel.-_-

Angryalien pokemon XD is a new pokemon game which is a sequel to the old game for the gamecube pokemon colesseum. Its very similar to the games on the game boy but 3d.
Man I really need a new computer.......
anyway Hi all I'm back. Pokemon XD is basically a remake of colloseum but with more shadow pokemon, the feature to actually capture wild pokemon, and much more the game also takes place in the ore region just like colloseum did.
