I couldn't figure out where this was supposed to go, so I thought that this might do. If not then please move it, Forum Managers :D (I like saying that)

Well, while I was sitting around coming up with new ways to get more people to join the site, I got two ideas. One for Affiliates and one for top sites. The first one was for affiliates.
I viewed the thread on it, and well....(be nice rukario) it kinda didn't work. My suggestion for it was instead of creating a thread for affiliates, why not make a forum for it. Not a sub forum, but a seperate forum that's viewable. To catch more users eyes, it could be put on either the piforums.tk entrance page as a link, or on the page that directs you to different forums(English, Other languages, ect.). How does it work you may ask? Well users could have their own thread made as an advertisement for a site or their website. I tried my idea on another site another site before, so its been tested, and it works. In that thread, the user could give a banner, link, and description. Here's the basics of how it works, that I typed a while ago for when I first created it:
We all know how hard it is to get visitors to come to your site when it is just starting out. Most big affiliates overlook the little guys. So We're creating a forum for affiliates, in hopes of helping future websites, and gaining more members as well. We are an anime/manga/anything website, so we can affiliated just about anybody. You link to us and we'll link to you. And what better place to affiliate with than a Forum? Easy none. Let's give those big sites a run for their money shall we.

Here's the guidelines for Affiliate:
-Your site cannot contain any nudity, profane, pornagraphic, adult, or violent material. No we do not link to such sites. Your site must be wholesome and a place where everyone can visit.

-Your site must have an appealing layout. It doesn't have to be flashy, but at least make it look good. No underconstruction or currently in development.

-80% of your site must be finished. Make sure that all of your links are working, your pictures are up, and the front page is done.

-Visitation doesn't matter. If all goes as planned, then you and I both should get visitors.

-It's free. Before anybody asks how much it costs

What do you have to do?

1.) Join the Forums. It's a must.

2.) Send me:
- a banner for your site
-The url
-A clear and concise description. what ever length you please. Just not to short. At least 1 and a half paragraphs.
-Title for your site
-A button for me to link it. Not to big.
-The category for your site.(anime, manga, pokemon, skating, business, ect.)
-Your sites slogan (If you have one)
-Your name and email(not required)

3.) You must link us on your navibar, or where you put your links, or if you prefer somewhere visible on at least 3 pages of your site(the 2 most visited and the homepage).

The link must be visible.
__________________________________________________ ____________

What will I do:

1.) I'll create a thread based on you site, that the members and visitors will be able to see. It will include a direct link, full desciption, site name, slogan, your name, email, and whatever else you sent.

The more views your site gets, the more visitors.

How to get your site removed:

1.) Try to change the content to avoid the rules after you are affiliated.
Note: If you change the content of your site like for example from music to sports, tell me so that your thread can be change

Let's just say that I have agents going around checking sites for me

2.) Change the url and have 'Site has moved' up on your page. No. Tell me if the url has changed, so that I can relink it.

3.) You can't submit more than one site. Submit your main site. If I find that you have two, then you're gone.

To submit your site to me either through email or PM. My email is
chazcharms@yahoo.com

(remember we want to help you. Our goal is to become a big affiliate)

Little Rukario
That was my post that I had made for it. Of course, I've since then strayed away, so I dunno what's been happening or remember the place. This is my new home so I'll try it on you guys and see how it works. Well, a mod, fm, or admin would have to manually start a thread, and the users could post in it their advertisement, and gain feedback. To keep it from becoming flooded and spammy, the mods, fms, and admins would be the only one's who can start threads. As for posting your site, you'd have to join first :p and remain active to keep your thread in order and answer any questions that members may have. People who don't remain active should be notified or have their site removed with notification. Its a we link you, you link us thing. We'd need a banner to go along with the site and everything, to give to people to link the forums. I dunno if people will go for it, cause it may put a lot of work on the mods and other authoritive figures, and I don't want to do that. The topsites and top affiliates could be stickied :) To start things off, the members who have sites could be the first ones to affiliate ^_^ Just to fill up the place for now. So what do you think? I dunno if its full proof, but I'm open to suggestions for this plan. As for my topsites plan, I'll see how this works out, then suggest it.

I know that the goal isn't only to get more members, but active ones as well.

As for topsites: Here (http://www.topsiteworld.com)
I think that we should create and have our own topsites :D

Most of your opion I think PI already tried. And it's up to the members to advertise at other places and refer people now...

You think so? She tried the whole "make an affiliation forum thing"? I only saw a thread, but oh well, it worked for some people, I don't think that PI did exactly what I said. You see, its not trying most of the oppinion, its following the whole plan through. But alas, most of my visions are only distant dreams.

I suggested this because advertising at other places and having us advertise isn't enough. There are only s many of us active members. Of course it takes time. But you'd have to do more than just that. Like do A, B, and C to get a chemical reaction :p

In order to get more members we'll have to pull together and come up with more ideas. I ask a lot of people, and well, their just turned off by the site. They don't see how this place sticks out, ot how joining this forum will be better than joining any other forum =/ Like Bulbagarden has rhe bulbapedia, Serebii forums has Serebii net(18000 visits plus), and PChas...well is just big. We gotta put something on here to catch the visitors eye, because anybody could just join a forum and chat about pokemon(even in a different language) there are plenty of places, so what would be anybody's reason to just stay here? Most people don't complete their activation because they don't care. We'll have to up our game in order to compete with the best.

Sure it takes time, but its a lot better than just being turned down by most of the people we try to get here(that also means joining and not being active). When most people happen to come upon this site and visit it what reason do they have to stay here? Sure PIForums has nice members, but only 9 of us at the most are on each week and not at the same time. The most people I've seen active at once were 6 (and I know I haven't been here for long). So how does that show the visitors that this is fun place? I'm not dissing the site, but just advertising the site isn't enough, seeing as most people come and just see another pokemon forum, or they just join, but don't reamain active because there isn't much to do. I just call 'em like I see 'em =/ and that's what I'm seeing and hearing. I'd rather hear what the members can suggest to make this place stand out, and make it look more appealing to join, and to get new members.

Oh, I'm sorry, not to be rude but I don't think that pika read it yet...cuz it was...too long :D . I think that it will be more effective if you give one opinion at a time :D

It was one oppinion, the first and second post =/ yeesh, I can't help it, most people don't get what I'm saying so I have to break it down. That, and I want people to be well informed when I post, so that they will know. If they don't want to read it because its too long, their need to get over it and read it >_> The fact of the matter is, that it will get read soon enough. People who really want to better things, will listen. Besides if it was vital information, but someone didn't read it because it was to long, and the whole Forum then fell apart, then who's fault is that? Exactly :D

Not to be rude, but not reading something because it is too long is lame. At least read most of it. Raichu2000 didn't even have to read the quoted part. I just put it to give more infor and clarify things. I didn't even go into depth, on the topsites plan. My second post is more of a fact, IMO.

All I'm saying is hear me out, before you dismiss what I'm saying. So read or Die

Anymore suggestions for new members or about my plan? If you want to add on to what Conan said, then I suggest that you also give a suggestion in your post, for the sake of staying on topic and not spamming.

Edit: I think that this may go in the suggestion thread, but I wasn't sure thwn I first started this. Although I think that this should stay seperate from that thread, seeing as it focuses on "What we can do to get more members' rather than "What we can do to improve the forums" cuts down on spammyness and offtopicness.
