Well, I tried translating my help threads that I had posted, using one of the translators that I know, of course, this is a translator that I can trust and the majority of its translations are accurate. But, Pi PMed me and said that they were confusing and that the translator I used was wrong, and said not to do it again(which is still up to me :p). Pi was nice about it, but don't you think that should be in the rules somewhere? Technically I did something that I was allowed to do. I posted a German and French thread in...German and French  This should be in the rules before anybody else, does it again  I checked the translations forum, and that was no help. I translated my threads back to English using a different translator before I posted, and it came back accurately. So what am I getting at? There should be rules about posting in a forum with a different vernacular. The online translations forum, only says you'll do it for us if we want you to or if we ask, so there's no rule as to winging it on your own(doing it yourself). Imagine for me, if you will, having 50 active members at a time(instead of the ones we have now) with the forums the same way they are now. What will be the long term effect of not having specific rules and guidelines for posting in other languages? If they post in that language, then they did right. If their translator doesn't get it right, but they translate it back and it's clear in English then they still did right. Before anybody metions the online dictionary thread....um...most people have their own translators that they use, and those online translators are just to help, nobody said that they had to use it.
Edit: Yeah, I was being a little extreme and over the top.

Wow..... I think you are getting a little over the top there IMO.....
The rules are general guidelines to follow. If you do something a moderator sees as inappropriate, he/she will modify/delete your post, and nothing much happens. If you feel it was a mistake, you PM the mod and he/she will put it back for you (hopefully).... It's really no big deal.
If rules are strict, people would just find ways to go around them. That's not good.
If rules are too loose, it gives the mods the power to terrorize fellow posters. That's why the mods are carefully chosen to be reasonable and friendly (ehh.... at least I hope ^^;;;)
Now for the specific rules:
1. be nice and friendly to everyone
This means that you can't complain if I delete/modify an insulting message.
2. don't curse
This one basically reinforces the first rule ^^;
4. try to explain all your statements
You did explain, and that's OK. I don't see a problem with the sentence about special powers etc., as long as it's in an appropriate meaningful topic (such as "Why do you like pokemon?"; creating a topic just for this post is obviously spam)
5. don't advertise other forums or websites here
I hear sigs are OK. Yes, this rule does need clarification.
7. no porn or something other immoral
Yes, people do have their own views and interpretation. It depends on the mod, obviously. Come on, we know what's appropriate for a pokemon forum....
8. don't steal traffic from other sites by using a picture from them in your postings or for your avatar
A technical rule. If you mess up here, a mod/admin should help you get it right in a friendly way.
9. don't open a topic which is already there
If it's closed, ask someone to open it. Bumping an old thread is OK with me as long as you have something meaningful to say and it doesn't just bother others (eg. if there was a discussion, you need positive proof that the conclusion was wrong or something like that; otherwise there's no need to discuss again). In the "just-hang-out" forums, and especially games, feel free to bump up anything ^^
- Posts with more smileys as letters
A general definition, true.
- Posts the don't express any opinion
"I like your pic because It looks cool." is a valid post. Not a great one, but it's keepable. If you only posted things like this, you'd probably be asked to elaborate more.
- Posts only "I like this"... please write "I like this, because..."
You know what is meant. We are not lawyers.
- Posts with illegal content
In case it's illegal anywhere and a mod gets to know, off it goes.
- Posts who hurt any person (f**k you, as***e) and so on
If it hurts any person, it's a bad post. It doesn't matter whether it hurts the poster.
Now for your comments:
1. People have their own views as to what is right or wrong?
- Sure they do. That's why you don't argue with a mod ^^ (politely asking/explaining yourself is another thing though)
2. People interpret and define things differently?
- If you need clarification, just post & look if your post stays on the Forum (as long as it isn't obviously wrong, such as double posts or porn). If you just want to post, just be nice and mindful of others, that'll do in most cases.
3. You'll have to tell them what you view as wrong, just in case they don't believe it is, so that they won't do it.
- The message gets across through modified/deleted messages. Creating a list of "wrong" things is impossible, we have to deal with posts on an individual basis.
4. There are newbs
- If they do something wrong, we'll tell them they did something wrong in a friendly manner, such as deleting the post with a reason as to why it was deleted. Anybody's free to PM the mods for any clarifications.
5. There are noobs
- Constant nuisances to the forum who do the same bad things over and over despite being told so are dealt with in an appropriate manner. What more can you ask? ^^
Anyway, a brief summary:
The rules are just general guidelines (with a few strongly defined no-no's such as double-posting). It's up to the moderator to moderate.
Writing strict rules to cover any possibility is unimaginably hard. That's why there are people to consider each post individually.
Whew.... That was long... Hope I didn't miss anything ^^
Woah It is time to say something to it ^^.
I think i understand what you mean little rukario.
At firstyou must know that making good rules is not very easy and so the ones you know in this forum are only the beta version or something like that, the real rules will be made by pika2000, i hope next time ^^".
So last time it works like En-Cu-Kou said, the mods like me XD, explain the rules how they understand and then decide wether a poster has break one or not.
The smilie rule and the languages rule that isn't here are real problems! With the smilies i handle it like this: i lokk if the smilies destroy the content and how good the content of the post is, then i delete some of the smilies or not ^.
But i must say you are allright, we need better rules, i hope pika2000 will read this next time.

I'm sorry I didn't get your point, Little Rukario. I just responded to what I saw as a point. I realize I'm probably the stupid oine here ^^;
