you can play the Pokémon games without knowing Japanese.
The basics (battles and so on) are nearly always the same, so there isn't much difficulty if you don't understand it.

I can never play a game without reading. I got this Red Pokemon version in German and I could play it even thought I've played it kazilion times ago. It's just this uncomfortable thing I have with foreing language games.^^Besides, how do you know where to go if you don't read the instruction when talking to IMPORTANT people like officer Jenny or someone.
