Do you use cheating devices? (split from "Are you still playing R/B/Y?")

Yea...so...does anyone own a gameshark? Do you even use it? I only use it when I'm totally complete with the game (without cheats) and then use the gameshark to add more fun to the game, to access new places and stuff eventhough sometimes it messes up my game^^. Good thing you save it before doing it^^.

Yes it does, before you summit a cheat, just save your game and then play for like 15 minutes more and then summit a cheat, never fail me, even if it messed up, turn off and on again and I'm where it's started^^.

yeah to me action replays work better than gamesharks, however I don't know why I think that because the both use codes which you type in.

Well, action replay code, it's cheaper and OFTEN mess up your game EVEN if you saved it before.

well, I used Gameshark on my ROM (I din't want to risk my "real" game) 2times and it didn't work properly the first time. The second time it was fine, but the game got boring because of that.

UGH. I HATE CHEATING. I never use them.
It takes the fun out of the game itself. And for those people who say they use cheat devices when they're "HAR HARDE IM DUN WIT T3H GAM", you're never done with a pokemon game. It's endless. Just an infinite amount of things to do.

That's spammy...my post was not spammy. It had capital letters, all the word were spelled correctly. I was poking fun at people that say "HAR HARDE IM DUN WIT T3H GAM", hence why it's in quote marks -_-

I also hate people that make up the excuse "I CAN CHEET TO GET TIKKETS HAR BECAUSE A EVENT WILL NEVER COME TO WHERE I LIVE HAR" heh...still doesn't give you any right to go ahead and cheat -_-

I cheated on Red, but I didnt know about the mew glitch at that time. Plus, I really, REALLY wanted a celebi on silver. It was strange, even when I the gameshark, I still had infinite master balls. So catching all the legendaries was a breeze. Oh, nearly forgot. I used it on yellow to play the surfing pikachu game and my squirtle turned into a lapras.

I don't use cheating devices, for three reasons.
1. I'm too lazy and broke to go get a gameshark or an action replay or whatever other cheating devices are out there
2. I don't want to go out and look for the cheats.
3. Cheating is no fun, because then you can't say that you played the game cleanly. :/

I never use any cheating devices on real games, but if it is a ROM I still very rarely use them, I just don't agree with chesting at all, it usually takes the fun out of it for me.

I use an Xploader lite for the GBA pokemon games. It worked like a charm and never messed up my game even though I used it loads of times for pokemon that couldn't be caught in the game.

No i don't cheat, it ruins the game and it end's up being easy, i have cheated on some games non-pokemon but i try to avoid cheating.

There's this one person that gives out tickets to the Islands so people here can get Lugias, Mews etc., since Nintendo never does anything here..... But I never got an island unlocked because I don't like cheating.

Only if I'm VERY stuck in a game. If I get seriously stuck in a game I tend to go off it fairly quickly, so I just the AR to help me along to a place I won't get stuck. Regrettably, but yes, I do use it - but only in those circumstances.

Whenever I beat the elite four the first time in a game I like to reward myself by ARing the rare legendary for that game. (For example,I would AR a Mew if I was playing FR)

I did use the walk through walls to get past the sudowood in Gold/Silver without doing the proper thing. Turned it off. Gave it back. Got stuck. Had to wait 4 months till I got another chance. Cheated the crap outta the game.

I don't hack, but I sometimes clone stuff, usually TMs. Cloning glitches come with the games, so the developers don't really have an excuse...

No, I don't use cheating devices... I heard that they can delete your game's data if used... So, yeah, I don't use them. I am against hacking and using cheating devices... T-They just spoil all the fun! :omg:

^ They only damage your game if you don't use them properly. And I think using a cheating device to activate the event for an in-game event Pokémon and then going out and catching it by yourself is more fun than spending Arceus-knows-how-much time/money just so some bored Nintendo/game/TRU store employee can hand it out to you... X_x; (No offence)

I use them to get in-game Event Pokémon, and I used them to get TMs on my old FireRed file since I needed a Psychic TM and no-one else I knew IRL played Pokémon.

I sometimes use them to get Rare Candies so I can check the IVs of freshly hatched Pokémon instead of going through the hassle of raising the Pokémon to Level 50, or finding someone to IV battle with. I reset or turn the game off after, though, since I like to raise my Pokémon without using Rare Candies.

Years ago I tried out my Action Replay on my Ruby to have fun in the Battle Tower, but I got bored of it. I later restarted my Ruby because I felt guilty about hacking my Pokemon.
