#373 Salamence

[Sheer Cold]

Salamence, the OU pseudo-uber of 3rd gen, was the backbone of most of my Emerald Battle Frontier teams. I love it, simply because it's OHKO'd entire teams Pokemon by Pokemon for me.


These are movesets on two of my Salamence; I know they're far from effective since Emerald was my first game (besides Silver which I noobed the whole way through).

The Salamence I used:
Dragon Claw
Fire Blast
Hydro Pump
Fly

The Salamence I didn't use:
Dragon Claw
Earthquake
Aerial Ace
Hydro Pump

Well, obviously, the second Salamence is better.

Dragon claw is a good attack to clean up dragon-type pokemon. And, with it's 15 pp, it isn't going to become useless too soon.
Earthquake is the only thing effective on eletric pokemon, and as such is effective on fire pokemon, which is a good combo.
Aerial ace-just perfect for Ground and Grass type pokemon. A very powerful attack, surely better than Fly.
Hydro pump? Misses a lot of times, has only 5 pp, of 2 or 3 will miss, believe me, surf is a lot better.

You do realize Salamence can't learn surf, right? I doubt you're implying Salamence to learning Hydro Pump but if you were, I was just shedding some light.
Anyway, I like Salamence. He's my favorite non-legendary dragon pokemon. He's powerful but the only thing I don't like about him that I don't like is that he can't learn attacks like Ice Beam and Thunder which I like for my pokemon to know.

Anyway, I've been trying to hatch an Adamant Bagon to get a passable Salamence, but so far they've all had terrible IV's.

Salamence is a perfect pokemon, I haven't used it for battle since its level for evolving is so high, the first one is better except by removing FireBlast and giving it Earhquack, and for ArielAce, you should keep Fly in place of it, as Fly is stronger.
