Have you ever attempted to beat the game differently?

Back in the days of RBY [and GSC], you could beat the whole game with just your starter.

I did beat Sapphire with just a Swampert. Thinking that it could be done, I tried it on LG with Squirtle as starter. I got owned at Rock Tunnel afterwards.

[And is a low-level Pokemon challenge even possible? I've seen it done in other games...]

Nah, I couldn't even do that, though I did it once with my Typhlosion in my Crystal. It WAS HARD.

Ive never beat a game with a pokemon that is not my starter. It is always my most powerful Pokemon and it gets the job done, but I just bought a Ruby version and I am trying to train multiple pokemon to create a team to use.

I've never tried a monotype or a starter-only team. I need 5 or 6 Pokemon of different types or I go crazy. XD;;

I should try one time, though, for a bit of fun. Maybe we can do starter-only or monotype challenges here?

I am contemplating on doing a low-level game[LG]. I know that it may be impossible, but it's a start.

About doing those challenges, I endorse this idea.
