Useful Key Combos

As the title says, you should post any useful key combonations that you know of, and what operating system they are for.

Here are a few (note they are all for Windows):

[Winlogo] + L = Switch User (use on public computer to stay logged in and continue to run programs.

[winlogo] + D = Show Desktop

Alt + F4 (the key at the top) = close current window.

Ctrl + Shift + Escape = Use if a program has stopped responding to close it (by clicking on that program and then End Task).

Ctrl + Alt + Delete = If your computer has stopped responding, use this and it should pay attention...

Here are some for Linux:

Ctrl + Alt + Backspace = Restart X (graphics). Use if you have a glitchy screen.

Alt + F4 = (for most desktop interfaces) Close current window.

Those Linux Combos are for most-all desktop interfaces. Most others only work in one specific desktop interface. Maybe I'll find out the most popular one and post some combos for the top 2 or 3.

If you're looking for free software of any kind, check out http://sourceforge.net (http://sourceforge.net/). It's got just about anything anybody needs!

I highly recommend http://myfastforum.org or http://myfreeforum.org as your free phpBB forum host. They provide quick support on their support forum and they are constantly getting updated with new hacks. They also automatically list you in their directory, there is no pop-ups and and only one add banner at the top. I used them before vBulletin and they were the best I have seen. Also added a few links to the list.

Another good free thing is OpenOffice.org, a free, full-featured office suite, with the ability so save and read Microsoft Office files. It can be found, suprisingly enough, at http://openoffice.org (http://openoffice.org/)

x10 Hosting (http://x10hosting.com/) is the best free webhost I've found. No ads or pre-made templates; everything you see on the page must be your HTML. It uses cPanel, the only downsides are a 300MB site limit and 3 maximum SQL databases. This is better for people who already know HTML and CSS.

That reminds me, I use 000webhost (http://000webhost.com). 250 MB of space, 100 GB of bandwidth, cPanel, 5 MySQL Databases, 5 FTP Accounts, 5 email accounts, free subdomain (username.890m.com), & easy web app installer (such as phpBB, Drupal, etc.), as well as probably some stuff I don't remember.

Also, I heard rumor they might've changed some of the details. I think you get more space, but fewer FTP accounts. *shrug* I've been wrong before, though.
