I'm sure at least some of you have heard of this before. Basically, you make a team from scratch and test them out. Like NetBattle. We could use this for our tournaments and stuff if we don't have Wi-Fi, or are too lazy to actually make a team.

it CAN be counted at adverting, but since it's about the topic, I won't warn you if you post a link ;)
anyways, I still have it somewhere on my computer. since my wifi sucks I can use that for battling :) BUT you haven't really put much effort into "breeding" the pokes and so on, so that would be little bit unfair

I guess, but I think of it as a real time-saver. I can come up with a team and have it ready within a few minutes on Shoddy Battle. On the real game, it takes hours just to get the same results. And Shoddy Battle has chat.
I personally prefer Shoddy Battle over battling with a DS.

like already said, links like that are fine
I haven't tried Shoddy yet but I've used NB (though it kinda frustrated me xD)
Telekinetic Bear suggested making a server for PI which is a great idea, but I can't host one myself, so if someone else can, they have my permission to do it.
Having Shoddy tournaments is a good idea, I'm gonna check it out soon.
hmm… I have really no idea how to make a server…
I'll try some things, and post it here if succesfull
EDIT: weird, can;t make it to become active… anyways for the ones who want to try, here is a link: http://shoddybattle.com/downloads_server

Finally got around to making a server, PIForums.
Start up Shoddy Battle, get to the list of servers, then click Advanced. You should see a menu that has two lines.
Host: (leave this field blank)
Port: 1234
And that should take you to the PI server.
hmm…
"error: connection refused"
weird…

I think I reset everything in my computer that day, so the server will be off until I decide to turn it back on. That means downloading and installing the server package again. I might do that sometime tomorrow.
