I'm hoping someone reading this can help me.
Anyone have any idea were I can get some sort of scans of the newer volumes? Just in Japanese is fine, really. I've been hankering for some Pokemon Special lately and the whole "not printing them anymore in English" thing has sort of been a problem since... you know.... 2001.
Any sort of help would be greatly appreciated.

which newer volumes are you looking for?
Pokemon scans are VERY hard to find online D: Especially translated ones.
I know of a group from Singapore that translates the special manga called Chang Yi. I believe there is an ebay store that sells the volumes and there is a website to buy them.
i'll try to find the site if you'd like. Or, if you're looking ofr some Japanese ones(actual one, not scans) then I suggest you look for a close Kinokunya bookstore, since they sell all the pokespecial manga(in Japanese of course)
I hope that helps a little bit :/

I was hoping to find stuff after Volume 9.

Could you, please? I'll be looking too though XD
Also, unfortunately there isn't any sort of store like that anywhere reasonably near here.

Any help is great :D Actually, after posting the OP is when I found up to Volume 9 XD Who knows, maybe I'll be lucky and find the volumes after that in a couple minutes XD

And I was right. Well, sorta. I found volumes 10 and 11, and 12 and 13. 14 however is mysteriously missing. Then just 15 and then 21. I think I already have 22.

Cheese, I've been on every page of that site twice by now XD They don't seem to actually have an online store, or at least I was given that impression.

I'm gonna ask my grandma to let me take a plane to Signapore when I go to India next. XD Hooray. But I need to know the exact whereabouts...
Why doesn't Viz do them anymore? The manga is pretty good.

Damn.
Well, I found the eBay store, if you are comfortable with ordering online:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160209599976&ih=006&category=8575&ssPageName=STORE:PROMOBOX:CUST
they sell all the English translated versions of Pokemon Special, from Volume 1 to the recently released(in English) 26

Many people speculated that when they were first released here, it did not sell well. and Viz lost money on it. So they pulled it. As you may know, they recently re-released one named The Best of Red, and the best of Yellow.
I think those may be tests to see how they sell now, since there is a growing interest in the Pokemon manga (and why not? The manga is far superior to the anime IMO)

Yeah, that's probably because Diamond is one of the most desired games now... I'm hoping they'll at least try the Diamond/Pearl saga of the manga. Man, do I wanna read it... ;-;
