View Full Version : should mods be more active
I want to know if lots of members agree with me, that there are more and more spam in the english forum.
More and more topics go crazy or change there topic.
I think this is not very helpfull, but i did nothing till now.
I will be more strictly, that means more deleted, but with pms or posts that tell you why.
Do yuo agree with me?
I start this projekt tomorrow if lots of user disagree i will stop.
I think we have to be strict sometimes, but not allways. If some users agree, I do my best to remove spam.
I will be excited to listen to the opinons by our other members!

Eventhough I agree with the strictly part and stuff but don't you need an approval of pika2000 first? She once told me that she doesn't want any mod to delete member's posts. Beside, she didn't make any requirements for mods to do. I think we should have a private conference forum where only Mods can access and discuss what we should do to the forum and what admin want us to do to the forum. Anyway, my point is you should get pika2000's approval first before doing that or else members will not be happy^^.
I am one of the first members and mods of this forum and whatelse is the maintask for mods then delete spam and editing posts?
I did not say that i delete without reason and i said that i wait untill tomorrow ,because i will see the opiniens of the other members.
Pika2000 must not agree because it is not a special thing or against the rulez, it is just something that is needed.

Ok ok, calm down, I'm not trying to offense you or anything^^. Anyway, can you explain to me YOUR definition of "spam posts"? And I don't think we need to delete posts, just edit them so that they look more interesting but if you want to delete, I guess it's your business^^.
Sry i do not want to be agresive but i am happy when i can say in english what i mean there is not any room to check if i write very cheerfull.
Spam is when a user write in his post:
- only 3 words or less
- s.t. that is too far from topic
- s.t. that is very impolite or kind of rasism o a religion group
- s.t. that express nothing
- only a statment of the user that is not needet. (when the topic do not ask for a statement)
< that is not all but the main things.

Strick but I really think that we should start doing that. That's what I've been telling members to do all the time, post quality posts not spammy ones but...hasn't have effect. If pika2000 can make this a rule, than it would be so great. But if not, mods can do it.^^
Yeah! I think this is a good offensive to re-cultivate this forum from spam.
But, I think when we must go to Pika2000 because deleting or sth., why we are mods? I think, mods are allowed to change spam posts.
PS.: We have more to write "Please don't spam..." and so on under posts of some users, so they can learn the rules and if they don't learn it we can delete the post.

Hmm, I was thinking, just thinking, what IF the ADMIN or other MOD post spammy post? Like FOR EXAMPLE, Ash (a SUPERMOD) post a spammy one, can I still fix or delete it?
I think Yes, because SPAM is SPAM and if the spam comes from a guest or a mod, there isn't a difference in my eyes.

Fabi is allright spam is spam but this is not the topic!

This is completely right.
Yes, mods should do their job and delete spam, but the should not physically delete posts/threads (Beitrag endgültig löschen in german).
Mods are actually unable to do this, but SMods can.
Physically deleting means, the posts/threads will we completely removed from the database, you can't restore it again.
If you just delete it, you'll be able to restore it.
I just had to point that out:
SMods are forbidden to physically delete pots/threads. If I catch one doing that, he'll probably lose his job, cuz I don't want this forum to be kinda "empty".

I'd be glad if there was some kind of a policy for the mods, like... Should we delete interesting off-topic posts?

^Well, for post like that, I think that we should just move to the off-topic forum^^.
To Pika2000: What's the point of leaving the shadow behind when a thread is deleted and no one can view? Isn't just make the forum more populated and hard to see? And I think all deleted or closed posts should be moved to the bottom of the page.

I can restore it, if I think it shouldn't have been deleted...
