for quite a long time (about 3 years), i had an idea for a story -I won't say book because i don't want to give myself false hope-.
when we had to write a little story for school, mine was always one of the best, maybe even THE best.
in time, the storyline improved, and now i want to start writing this story.
but i can't.
i opened a word document dosen of times, but the pages stayed black and i gave up.
i put a note beneath my cusion, so i could start wrinitng whenever i felt so.
but the words never came.
i think i'm sort of afraid to start writing. what if i'm done, and i find out my "masterpiece" isn't that great at all? then it would feel like it's all over, gone forgood.

First things first. What is your experience in writing? Poems, one-shots, essays, anything. Also, do you familiarize with a specific kind of literature? Any books you've read and loved?

i'm not sure what you mean with one-shots :/
i wrote a fanfic once, but it isn't done yet (and in dutch). in school, we sometimes need to write a story, sometimes with a subject chosen by the teacher, sometimes not.
when we get a subjec,t i always try to keep the story interesting and different from the other stories, for example we had to write a story about a schooltrip, i made it a Dracula-like story.
about the books i read.. i like fictional books, things like harry potter and the books of dan brown (excpecially angels and demons)

I had the same problem, but with fanfics,
and at this point, I don't care if people like it or not, I'm just sick and goddamned tired of seeing the fics I see pop up lately.(no offense to the writers, but it's a 'subject' that is a huge pet peeve of mine)
I actually have alot of the story "written in my head" (no seriously, I do) it's just, I do not have time to just sit here and write, and when I do, I don't want to do it. I'm too lazy.
Trust me, there will be people who will like your story, and there will people who will dispise your story. You will not be able to satisfy everyone. (but im sure you already knew that)
Just go for it and make some people happy.
and what he meant about one-shots are stories that are only one chapter long. which i've made plenty of those. (in the Hoennshipping thread here, rotting away)

i know what you mean with stories written in your head. I have that myself. but for me, some of those stories are just, not worthy of being written in real, because they have too much clichés or something like that.
and BTW, yesterday around half past 10 PM i got some inspiration, wich became 2 full first pages!
it's quite good i think, and i'm going to type it in word now
