Donphan is one of the best Rapid Spinners, its resistance to Stealth Rock is a handy tool. Earthquake is an obvious choice for STAB, while Ice Shard and Stone Edge take care of flying types. Ice Shard can also destroy those pesky dragons. Rapid Spin is the main focus of this set and because Donphan is a sturdy pokemon, you can switch it in a lot to spin away some rocks or spikes. Last move depends, Roar for PHazing, or you can setup your own rocks.

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 6 Spd ( you can take away some HP EVs and put them into Speed )

- Fire Fang / Rapid Spin
While Donphan normally is a defensive pokémon, it can be a poweful attacker. 120 Base Attack is nothing to laugh at, especially not when you have that magnificent STAB Earthquake. Stone Edge and Ice Shard for the reasons stated in the above set. Fire Fang for Grass types, although you already have Ice Shard for them, or Rapid Spin to clear the field when you know your opponent is just going to send out a Donphan counter immediately.
My opinion:
A very sturdy, reliable Rapid Spinner who you can switch in repeatedly to clear the field. When you aren't such a Rapid Spin fan, Donphan can be a very powerful Choice Bander for you. Anyway, Donphan is a pokemon to consider when building your team.
