So what is, in your opinion, the answer to the Ultimate Question? What is the meaning of life for you?

Though I am a deist of sorts my beliefs about life are mostly secular, so I think that the ultimate goal of every person should be to leave the world a better place than it was when you came into it, so that it can be passed on to future generations.

Life is anything you want it to be-there is no "real purpose" or "destiny". You choose what you want to be. Although I'm a Catholic, I believe in making my own life what I want it to be and not want someone else to decide what's my future.

Life will always remain unpredictable, little things can change the outcome of your life and so it cannot be determined. Your goals and ambitions are to be decided by yourself to achieve, probably also things that will help you die happy.

The purpose of life is to balance or unbalance chemical reactions. That's really what life is, the manifestation of chemical reactions trying to balance. When they finally balance, the result is what people call death - the end of life, when there is no requirement (chemically and physically) to live any longer.

But you shouldn't think of it that way anyway. You are a part of the system, thus you are expected to accept the abstraction and believe life has some other purpose. Each individual has his or her own way of understanding what he or she is supposed to do with their life.

In the end, it matters not whether you understand the underlying reasons as long as you are happy with what you are doing. That's what's most important - be content in everything you do. Living to enjoy simple things is a good enough reason for me!

lawl "chemical reactions"
There aren't any "chemical reactions" that need to be balanced to make life into life. -___-
You're thinking on a scientifically incorrect level. :(

How so? Is eating and drinking not a chemical requirement? Does your brain not function due to a physical and chemical system of nervous connections (electrical charges) and neurotransmitters (chemicals)? In science, there are no "incorrect levels". Most people don't adequately grasp that since everything is made of atoms, everything can be explained scientifically.

Things not immediately apparent don't necessarily have to be connected with "higher forces" like God.

Not all things have life because they have to fulfill something-that's the flaw in that theory. ;p
But w/e-I really dun wanna go more into this debate as I just do what I want in life and don't give a crap about most other people on the other side of the world. XDDD

I didn't say life is for fulfilling something. What I wanted to say was that whether you like it or not, life exists because of the quintessential universal need for positive and negative to combine to give zero. Everything else, from global warming to the reason why you are sitting at your computer reading this can be explained as a result of this fundamental strife.

Then again, what am I doing saying things like this at a Pokemon forum? I simply like Piforums (I visit no other pokemon forums), that's probably why. I don't think I really even expect people to catch my drift, let alone comprehend some of the things I say in this debate forum. But if you give it some thought, you'd reach the same conclusions as me.

That's the correct attitude I mentioned ;)

XDD Whatever you say then. I do understand what you said but for the moment, I'd like to not respond as it's my summer vacation time-meaning time away from thinking. XD

Lol! Now I know you've just agreed so you don't have to read another agonising post of mine. :D

Heh, enjoy your thought-free vacation-time then, I'll enjoy mine too! XD

To me, I think life is everything you do, every decision you make, your memories, friends and loved ones. I don't know why people think they don't know what the question to life is. There is no question. It's everything you are, and everything you can be. Your past, present and future.

Ultimately, life is a journey. A journey you decide in the beginning, and a journey you have hopefully succeeded in at the end. I don't think there is a meaning for life, actually.

My brain is a bit clogged right now... >.<

We're just here to live the life we have in front of us, leading the best life possible. There is no reason for it but you're the one that has to make it succeed.

Why zank you. I just wanna live life, and do whatever. I know my parents have a whole future planned ahead for me, but I'll probably do something crazy and dumb instead. :p

Oh, and keep an open mind. That's important too.

I know my parents have a whole future planned ahead for me, but I'll probably do something crazy and dumb instead. :pThat is the case in many young persons lives. I try not to live under the help of my parents too much, that I must discover for myself, that's what makes me a better person. But that is just me, others will have different intensions.

For me, life is this: Die as old as possible, and on the way eat as many tacos as you can.

I think we are alive to make the world better, smarter, and all things like that. we also need to "protect" the world, and be nice to each other =D

OR we live to die
very weird but may be treu =o
