Mew glitch in Red and Blue

You probably have heard of that glitch. On a certain way you can catch a Mew near Lavander town (sp?). Now feel free to say what you want to say about that glitch in this thread.

I have some questions and I hope you can answer them. And I will answer them aswell.

I don't know what to think of glitches, but it seems like the programmers made this glitch "attractive". It is not just a fault in the game I suppose, since you need to do a little "quest" for it.

Well, as long as it doesn't involve cheating devices, I think these types of things are okay. It's just using what you have to get what you can.

Yes, I've heard of it. No, I haven't done it, as I'd completed Red long before I found Pokémon forums and I later wiped the cartridge.

As for what I think, I believe it has more legitimacy as a glitch than any one devised for cloning or, for that matter, the Missingno glitch (which is just ridiculous as one can get since it has horrendous adverse potential with little benefit beyond a cheap Electrode or 100-plus Pokémon) — mainly since the glitch does what it says: Get Mew without the hassle of a Nintendo event that will never happen again.

I like the glitch. I mean, I dont see how it can be considered cheating. And also, Id love to see the "Exploiting Glitches is bad" people if they got a Celebi through the Celebi Glitch. Cause I will bet £10000000 that they will keep it.

I know of it, but in truth until recently I was an Action Replay maniac and already had many Mews by the time I heard of it, so I didn't feel it was necessary to do it. I don't have a problem with glitches (or even cheat devices, though I have sworn never to use them again) as long as they are used soley for in-game purposes and not for anything competitive, for then people who know the glitch are at a serious advantage.

You can catch Mew with this glitch, I like Mew

@Gunzelino: You must not defeat 2 trainers: the gambler beneath the underground near Lavendertown and an Youngster North from Cerulian City

First you need to walk out the underground on the lavendertown side. SAVE YOUR GAME. Walk one step southwards and IMMEDIATELY press start and FLY to Cerulian City. The START button will not work now. Walk North over the Nugget bridge, and keep walking mext to the wall in the north untill the Youngster with 1 Lvl 17 Slowpoke Challanges you. Defeat him and FLY to Lavendertown. Exit the town on the West side. Your START menu will pop up. PRess B and you will be Challanged by al Lvl 7 MEW. Catch it and look in your Pokédex. You will see that you have Nr. 151 MEW!

How do you think about this glitch? glitches are EVERYTHING. it;s a cool glitch, but only do it if you have enough time, patience, and dumbness to start over your old game if you already beat one of the particulair trainers

I love this glitch because Nintendo doesnt give a way to get mew in red, blue, yellow, gold, silver, or crystal. And you can get as many as you want now!
