PI's future (again!)

I'm writing this, because I'm really in a bad mood.
Main reason for that are...these forums...
I'm totally angry, because every little forum gets more members, but this one doesn't...
not saying that every little forum is bad, but I have seen some, they are just a rip off of some famous forums and they even don't have an own design, but they get more members...*cough*
the other thing is, that I've always been working hard on these forums, but it never got me anywhere.
I made threads, added new hacks, advertised, did everything to make these forums more attractive.

this was a gift, to encourage people to post, because I personally don't like the idea of poeple being modded so quickly.

I just don't know what the reason for these forum's unpopularity is.
I thought an international forum would be liked by people, because I think PIF is currently, kinda...unique.

I actually spend to much time at the net, just because of these forums.
I want to have a life, but every time I'm not here it's dead.

I have no ideas what to do now, but if it's going on like that, the forums are going to be closed :(

It just sucks, and I feel if all of my hard work was just useless...

any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

i think yer working to hard, one thing i personally hate about free forums is that theres one admin with a thousand and a half threads with no posts......
i think that it doesnt apply here much though...

Does more members necessarily mean a better forum? PI has always been a nice place with a pleasant family-like athmosphere. It's not anonymous, it's easy to get to know everybody. It has a nice admin that's not just concerned, but devoted to it. PI surely *is* unique. I personally don't think closing it is a goot idea. I'll stay until the end, hoping the end will never come.

This place doesn't appeal to me much, that's why I don't post much. That's probably the same reason for other members too.

Well, as I know, this forum only opened for less than a year. Honestly, you can't expect a forum to be popular under a year, a professional forums would take 2-3-4 years to be popular. All I can say is you have to relax and just let the forum how it is, don't rush it, the more you rush, the more dissapointment you'll get^^. Also, I have an idea, if you add a website page (not a forum) to this forum, I think people would notice it more.^^.Ok, bye.

PS: Please don't close the forum, many people will me mad and dissapointed if you do.

well, I decided to leave the forums open.
I didn't know you like the forums so much, so I don't want to make you angry with closing them.

I'd be actually too hard for me to close them.

But we still need to discuss about the future, I think it's quite important.

Well, you're definitely have a lot more to read than me cuz you know 2 languages so you can be involve in 2 forums at onces. Poor me and other only English speaking members, only know one language:( . Anyways, I guess that's the advantage for those people like you.^^

I don't speak French (not a word), and I learned German in school for a very short time - I don't understand the German forums at all...........

Oh yea,^^Obviously we need to hook up more English speaking members and I really don't know how. I tried advertise at like 30 forums now, I just sign in and put the link in my sig and post serveral and people don't seem to be interested. I wonder it's because of them or of this forum^^.

That's true, but it's not worth the cost....... This is a free forum after all, why pay for advertisements when the forum itself is free?

I don't think that you have to pay to advertise. I think you just sign up and if they see your forum worth it, they will put it in the list. I think that they only charge people when they want to advertise big bussiness and stuff^^. I saw severl free forums on google when did a POKEMON search.

I'm making a Pokésite a really really good one wich should be much better then the other sites. As a forum i want to use Pi. when the site is ready I tell you all very fast!. The server is for my site is given to me from Poke1993 !

I was very happy about your motivation so do not be sad. You make so many posts that some spam is not very bad from you. See I make sometimes doubleposts in the german forum. Nobody is perfect.
