I wonder:
Max is 8 and he is travelling around with the others
Ash started his journey when he was 10
when do they go to school?
they don't have much time to do!
Do you think they only learn to read and write and that's it?!
it's abit unlogic in my eyes
Yes, it's unlogic.
Because, in some episodes, they visited a Pokémon school, but they haven't to stay there. I think they are "intelligent" so they don't must go at school.

but they can't know how to read and write when they are born. there is already very little time for learning that in the "Pokémon peoples'" lives. so they have to go to school some time...

Hm.... I read a pokemon anime once, and Gary said that "pokemon trainers on their training quests are exempt from school" or something in that sense.......

:D Oh for god sake, it's an anime, we viewers should assum that every character in the movie is intelegent enough, even if they go to school, they would learn all about Pokemon. Well, however, I think they went to school all year long, I think it's there summer break when they're traveling. And when the show ends (changing from one region to another region), during that time, they go to school again.

Doesn't the show have a "smooth" transition between the regions?
I'm not a poke-anime expert, but I thought so......

Exactly my point, they don't go to school cuz the journey is their school^^.

The characters do go to school in pokemon. Remember in Advanced, I forgot the episode, but Max said that May had developed a crush on a boy in her class, when he was teasing her. And Gary did mention a trainer's absence from school before. Pokemon training, as well as gym leading, and pokemon mastering are jobs. So pokemon training is the schooling, because the trainers have already decided what they want to be. That's why they can only become pokemon trainers when they turn ten. Before then they learn how to read and write(you know the basic stuff). It's like whe young boys are chosen to go into the army at a certain age(mostly 10 and 12 year olds) wht do they do up until they can fight officially? There are kids in pokemon who decide not to become pokemon trainers, so yes there is a such thing as school. But in Pokemon, pokemon is the main focus. So yes they did go to school.

Well, that's just tempotarily, but after that, he joined Ash's group and skipped school...right?

Yes, but we don't know how long temperarily is :p And who were you reffering to that skipped school Kaitou? I don't think that they teach you how to become a Pokemon trainer at regular school :p So experience must be the best way to learn.

Maybe they were home schooled and learned only for a little bit, I don't know.

I suppose they must have been homeschooled or something, because they seem to have a decent IQ to me. Regardless of the fact that May can be utterly dumb sometimes (who doesn't know what time-traveling is?), the same with Ash, they have to have been educated somehow prior to the Pokemon series, right?
Though, it is kinda weird that kids start their journey at 10.
