PokeSpecial: Diamond and Pearl!

with the release of the December edition of shogakuen comics, comes the release of the newest saga of the great Pokespecial manga:

Pokespecial: Diamond and Pearl.

For those not familiar with the Pokespecial series. It is a comic that better resembles the game. Each generation had it's own story.(Red/Green/Blue, Yellow was it's own series, but connected to the Red/Blue/Green, gold/Silver/Crystel, and Ruby/Sapphire, with Battle Frontier connecting to R/S, and Fire Red/Leaf Green having it's on story, but that is actually a sequel to the original Red/Green/Blue story arc) So, now it's time for the Diamond and Pearl story to begin:

From the looks from the Preview page from the Official Netkun site here(click me, if you dare) (http://netkun.com/pockemon/) it seems like the boy is named Diamond. That was kinda obvious, however. The rival's name is Pearl. Which was thought to be the girls name, but I guess not. and it looks like Diamond and Pearl are best friends and are both comedians which I think resembles the Japanese comedian duo "Downtown"(If anyone has heard of them) According to the summary given.

The female character does not seem to have a name yet, she is just known as "Pretty girl"? (I need to check that kanji later)

The Manga version of Hikari(Which I will call her for the time being) seems to have a Pocchama, just like the anime. Diamond has Naetoru and Pearl has Hikozaru. They seem to be on a mission to Tengan mountain, that was fast =/ , and just like the games, they are attacked by a flock of wild hostile Mukkuru. and thats where the summary ends.

If by some stroke of luck I get my hands on the comic, i'll post more info. But this comic is really hard for me to come by. So, i'm not making any promises.

I'm really excited about this one coming out, I've read the Gold and Silver ones, but I've never really even tried to get my hands on the other ones. I can't wait, this one I'm getting, even if it means shipping it from japan.

Since the chapters come out monthly, there are four chapters out as I post this.

Nothing much(or good for that matter) has happened; Diamond(or in Japanese, he is called "Daiya") seems to have a Munchlax and a naetoru(grass starter) and his personally resembles his Munchlax, (loves to eat and loaf around, doesn't care much about the things around him)

Pearl is a loud person who aspires to be a comedian(more than Diamond) and is serious about it than Diamond is. His pokemon consist of Hikozaru(fire starter) and a Chitat(Perappu)

"The Lady"(Manga version of Hikari) is still nameless. She comes from a very rich family of Sinnoh, and looks down on Diamond and Pearl as "Commoners" (B*tch)

From the looks of it. Pearl is jealous of Diamond spending alot of time with "the lady". so far, many people speculate a possible " dramatic love triangle" between the 3.

Seeing as how the Ruby and Sapphire(Manga Version of Brendan and May) relationship went well(ish)

we'll see what happens as the story unfolds more

many people speculate that they will name her if/when they reveal the 3rd equivalent game (like Emerald, or Yellow, or Crystal) and her name will be that third name.

After checking out Netkuns updates and reading Coronis' translations at SPPf, not much is happening.

"Lady Berlitz" is the one who is challenging the Gyms. Which still to this day, I don't like that, but whatever. But there have been times where Diamond and Pearl's comedy routine have gotten in the way of her gym battles.

like in her first gym battle, whilst Diamond and Pearl were practicing their tongue twisters, it got the Gym leaders Pokemon confused, and Berlitz took it to her advantage.

Cynthia seems to be the only person so far who laughed at their jokes. Which was funny all in it's own.

Cyrus looks damn creepy, and speaks in a philosophical tone in which nobody gets him, and team Galactic speaks in their own type of alien language.

yet, neither of them caught any new Pokemon which has been kinda bothering me.

But they call them 'Diamond, Pearl and Berlitz'. At least, that's what I read on Bulbapedia.

Straight from the comics themselves: (and from Netkuns character profiles, if you can read Japanese)

Berlitz is From the wealthiest family in Sinnoh. and thus, is very high privileged. In trhe begining, she claims to Diamond and Pearl that she does not reveal her name to "commoners" such as Diamond and Pearl.

Although, she has matured quite a lot lately in the story

everyone(including the character profiles on the Japanese comic's website) are calling her by that until she "reveals" her name.

EDIT: just checked Netkun, they still call her by "The Lady" or "madam"
