do you think, they'll ever show him in the animé?

There have been so many theories about it like that Giovanni, Professor Oak or even Ho-oh is his father...

I think Ash's father might have gone on a journey and be a successful trainer, maybe a gym leader.
And I think Ash will probably meet him in a new region.

so, what do you think?

I don't think it's Prof. Oak - there are two generations between them.... And it would also mean Ash is Gary's uncle (or worse, dad)......
It's probably not Giovanni either (go to the Rocket Warehouse in FR/LG after beating the Elite4 the second time, the scientist tells you)......
And as for Ho-Oh, that's just ridiculous X_X
Ash's father being a trainer far away sounds very reasonable, but I don't think Ash will meet him.... Nintendo wouldn't do that ^^

I think I saw ash father somewhere, he's just a normal pokemon researcher that hooked up w/ Ashe's mom one day and decided to have him^^. He's dead though, I think he fell of a cliff or something^^.

At school when I was learning how to make flash and stuff, my teacher show the class a clip of Pokemon and it was just a joke my teacher made copied phrases from Austin Power movie. It goes like this "Ash got defeated and injured badly and while he was unconjous, his father came to him (in his dream), he stood up and asked "Who are you?"
and he said "I am your father" (with a deep voice like in the Austin Movie^^). And after that, he started telling Ash blah blah blah stuff, that he should stand up and be himself or whatever, and tell Ash about him.....". That was it, I don't know if it's true or not cuz my teacher fixed it^^.

Hmm thats a rather difficiult and interesting topic.
But I as a big Ash fan can you say with 99%quaranty that ashs father öhm is not allready seen in Japan or in other lands. And I think Ashs father is and still will be a fictional thing of Pokéfans. Thats something mysterious abd so I do not think that Nintendo or another Company will show us ashs father.

I think that Ash would know his own dad when he sees him, so it probably wouldn't be Giovanni, unless he doesn't remember what his dad looked like because he was so little. His dad has yet to appear in the anime, and seeing as Ash doesn't look like his mom, chances are that he looks like his dad :p

Seriously, they probably won't reveal it until the show is about to end. If they were to reveal it now, then one of the 'Pokemon Mysteries' would be solved and it'd ruin the show....

I was once one who believed Ash's dad was Giovanni, but I no longer believe that simply because if Ash's dad was a gym leader, he would have been informaed, sooner or later. Plus Jessie and James would know if Ash was Giovanni's son...well most would think they would. Now I just simply believe Ash's dad is dead and they don't talk about him. Or hes jsut out there training and contacting Ash's mom while he journey's.

I agree with En-Cu-Kou. I don't believe that they even designed Ash's dad(If they did, it was secret). But you never know, Ash's Dad might appear in a future episode... Only time will tell!

I think that their planning some super secret big episode! :p (Nah, probably not, that's just my imagination). They probably don't have the full design cut out, but I think that they have character designs and sketches, and since it isn't a big deal now, they don't focus on it too much, but they just throw around ideas instead.

I think it’s some random trainer that isn't living with them. Divorce maybe? It sounds possible enough *shrug*
I used to think it was Giovanni too. Why? I'm not sure. I thought it was cool, but it wasn't based off on any anime evidence. Some people try to place him as Ash's father by using Pokémon Live... I donno how they could do that though, as that was American-made.

Probably not. It's obvious that it isn't important at all to the anime. Why waste the time? Unless they want to satisfy the audience.

I think, his father is a normal guy who wears glasses and works for the company. Ash's parents probably got divorce. I heard rumors about Giovanni, Lance, Flint etc. but I think, they all aren't real. Probably we won't see him in the anime. Sad, because I would like to know who he really is^^

This is a standard question... Ash's father hasn't and probably never will be in the anime, if you check around www.pokemon.com you might find where they say about his father and them saying they dont know his ID or anything else, but they're keeping it secret is all.

I think the father is something to be revealed as a massive surprise. I'm assuming that the father was once a blundering trainer but is now someone holed up in the mountains, looking for challenges, hoarding a large, ultrapowerful team.
