View Full Version : technology
It's the year 2005 now almost 2006, and every year technology seems to increase a little, then decrease a little, and we're always in the middle, so post your ideas for new technology we should have being made now a days. ( not stuff like hover cars, stuff like cures for new and old diseases, and serious stuff.)

Overpopulation can be easily be a pretty big problem for us. I think it would be wise to start thinking of faster ways of getting food. Another thing is that gasoline will eventually run out and we will have to start using everything electric and hydro powered, like cars and stuff. It's just a few things that I can come up with for now.
Very good point CoreUnit another method would be solar energy which even if it rains can still be used due to the fact that solar plates collect and store energy like a battery, Thus why it saddends me to see almost $4.00 in gas prices when they could just make solar cars for us o.o As far as food goes that's not really an issue because of crops, but then again I've noticed that global warming is becoming an everyday worry now due to the fact that every summer it seems to get hotter and earlier and earlier, but it gets cold slower and later, and it's not as cold. Yes getting faster methods of food would be wise, I suggest combining diffrent chemicals, to create new liquids o.O Another problem which most don't care about is the fact that we have WAY to many musical devices (IPods, CD players, ect.) and Cellphones, and not enough NEEDED Devices. I also think we should start gettign more advanced in NASA technology, like the Columbia incedent Could have been avoided had they payed better attention, and had better shielding. I know it's not likely and a stupid theory but we just may have to live on some other planet/moon if the earth gets out of wack so-to-speak. As far as the Global warming goes We need to cut back on cutting down trees, and pushing Industries to there limits, People need to relax, We just need to find advancements that way there can be more jobs, and stuff, instead of industries which produce alot of pollution in just an hour. Plus if we find other means we won't need tree's for wood, paper, ect. these are just some opinions of mine, if I find more I'll add.

I think the next big improvement should be wireless networks.
Millions of little routers units on small amounts of power, but communicating with each other at pretty high speeds since there's just so many of them.
Think New Orleans (http://www.smartmobs.com/archive/2005/11/29/wireless_new_or.html) for an example.
Hm..... That would be good if used for other means besides entertainment.... We have too many things like that now a days, and people aren't spending enough time building NEEDED devices, and that's why we are Technologically disadvantaged......

Yes I agree about the solar powered energy. But I think we don't have that much of that technology because we have low-tech solar powered plates. Most of the solar panels that they sell are very large and they cost a lot. Though it is effecient to use them not a lot of people can afford them. But I'm pretty sure over time we can quickly improve on how much energy they can make for us. For the global warming part, I think we need to use a lot less nuclear powered factories and such. It's causing a pretty bad problem to the environment and if there were an accident to occur at a nuclear plant, then that wouldn't be very good now would it? x_x Some things have become too dependant on nuclear power that if terrorist were to attack them, it can cause a lot of energy problems for us.
True, Nuclear disasters would spell a major problem to us and not to mention nearby area's due to the radiation of some objects, and as for the solar paltes, my thought would to maybe thicken the plates and make them larger so it could collect more sunlight, and save it longer than a thin small one would, now how to apply that to other objects like towers, and other objects, so the heat would bounce off and power other objects farther away might prove to be difficult so I would lessen the thickness of the plates. if we can't use Solar energy for some reason then we could cut back on using fossil fuels as gas and oil and maybe combine chemiclas, and other objects to make an artificial oil that would power cars, lawn mowers, ect.
