Well, although it's school time, I think the forums are too inactive.
I'm very happy about reaching 200 members recently, but what's the purpose of it, if they aren't active?

I know some of you enjoy posting in the games forum, which is ok (of course), but there are many other forums to attend.

I don't want to force you to post more, I just want you to give me an idea of what would make you post more.

Some of you seemed to enjoy the Shop hack a lot, I'd love to, but I can't bring it back right now, since it hasn't been released for vBulletin 3.5 (in fact, only uCash has been released for 3.5, which would mean you'd still earn points for posting, but wouldn't be able to buy anything).

I don't know if there is an equal "reward" for posting somewhere, so I wondered:
What do you want for posting?

I know rewarding members for their postcount might not be the best idea, since it may cause members to spam, but:

Not all people are like that (and PIF is full of decent people :) )
We've got staff members for taking care of spam Now to why I'm posting this: Well, I admit I'm not that active myself, but it's not nice to go online and see only about 5 posts have been made. It's kinda disappointing.
I don't want to be the only one to create new threads (I know some of you do that too, which I'm really grateful for :)).

Another point is, that I also want to get some new mods, but why should we have more mods on an inactive forum?
I'd really like to mod some of you, since I've seen a few decent people here, but I can't due to that reason.

So please, give me some ideas.
This isn't directed to all of you, since there are also active people.
And I beg you not to feel offended and forced to post.

I just want to become these forums more active and mod some people (yes, I think some of you would reallly deserve it).

Any comments and ideas are very appreciated.

Well for starters you could stop begging us, and making us feel guilty for not being active (this may not be your intentions...)... If I was a guest and saw this thread I would close the window immediately, you sound really desperate, and that the forums are doing really badly, so what would be the point in postin'. Secondly I get really peeved off when I see these types of threads because it makes us sound as if it is our duty to post, which it isn't... Thirdly, don't send me an email about activity, I'll post when I want to, plus Add maths is given me a hard time and also other things.

I always send out emails, whenever there is a new announcement.
You can turn them off in your userCP.

Yes, I'm aware of that, since I've got the same problem, but I still see many other active forums around the net, so I'm wondering what's going wrong here...

And, once again:
I DON'T force you to post for god's sake.
Nor did I say it's your fault, that the forums are inactive.
I care about my members and nothing is their fault.
It's up to the leaders to make the forums more fun to post at.
That's why I was just asking you to make suggestions (you'd get something in return of course).

If anyone comes up with crap like me blaming you again, I'm going to freak out...

You know I think that it's too hard to keep up with other bigger pokemon forums. This forum is good and all, but if you think about it most people would prefer to be active in bigger forums such as PokemonCommunity and Serebii. There are many pokemon forums that I've seen and I noticed they have one thing this forum doesn't have and it's a really cool forum banner. That could be something that can attract some people.

I have sorta been trying to start new topics and I think that if everyone that usually comes here starts making topics it will make this forum seem active and might have people come here regularly...but I don't see that happening much. Most of the staff members in here aren't that active at all. That might be something else that discourages people to come here and post.

I think I know what people want in forums. It's not so much of the rewards but it's more of getting responses in their topics. If you made a topic in any forum wouldn't you want to see responses from other people? Take a look at an active forum such as SPPf...people post there regularly because they are sure to get responses from other people. Thats what people usually want in forums, theres not much to it than that.

As of thoughts and ideas that is all I can come up with for now and I hope what I said can help get you any ideas.

Well it certainly sounds that way... I did read your post carefully and even though you said all the mumbo jumbo about not being offended and what not, it still seemed that you were trying to emotionally black mail us... you've done it in the past... no offence or anything but it had to be said...

My advice is to advertise more, quit the idea of a 100% pokemon forum and make it a general game forum, but if you want to make a pokemon section, do so... your only attracting one type of audience, and there are more general game fanatics than pokemon fanatics

Now i might as well say the truth here, but that isn't very suprising, you need to give the forum's something extra, if it's just a basic Pokemon Forum what's stopping people from joining BMGF, Serebii (Although i hate Serebii) or Pokecommunity? I think the forum's to similar to them, you need to give members something which neither of them have.

Such as Maybe RPG Inferno LITE, or, if you've got enough money RPG Inferno. Try to affilate with PC, i mean it's a long shot, but if it did happen you may be in for a lot of Visitor's.
What's a forum without a site? People tend to look at the site before the forum, try dedicating half of the time you spend on the forum toward's the site. ;) I have to agree with you on the inactive bit though, i find it stupid that someone would join a forum post once, and then leave.
I don't see how she's forcing us to post? If you don't want the email's anymore simply un-tick the box in 'Edit Option's' Or if you are leaving the forum, at least put a note in your sig or leave a goodbye post.

I agree with Shadow. Maybe you should affilate with more forums so we can have more people come here. Go to the top pokemon sites and see other pokemon forums that might affilate with you. Theres not much more you could lose by doing so...

To get someone to come to you; you have to provide something that is unique or cannot be obtained from somewhere else... just like everyone else has said... or atleast most... if your just a forum with nothing else to offer then why shouldn't I join bmg, pc, or sppf...

Well, there is already a version vor 3.5 which costs about $20 and requires many template edits.
It would be hard to change all of them after every upgrade.

A forum based RPG (RPGing only in threads, no additional hacks) is already in discussion.

Well, a lot of this fourm is manga/anime, and some of us don't watch the anime or read the manga, so that is why we go to games. Sure there is misc and general pokemon discussion, but that's three fourms, and maybe we just can't post in the other since they don't apply to us. Some don't like debating and some aren't up on the current news. I am not speaking for anyone, including me, I am just giving possible reasons

I have been trying to post alot recently keep this place active and so has king toad but its hard to post when theres no one to reply and sorry for not being able to post during school I think if we added more games to the arcade it would be good =)
