ABSOLUTELY, COMPLETELY, LEGALLY AND FREE!!!

Here are some info:

Host/Domain: *yourforum*.funpic.org/forum
Type of forum: Invision Power Board
Version: 1.3 Final OR 2.04 (your choice)

Note: You can do whatever you want with this board, doesn't include any policy like the other free forums you get. No advertising. You can give it modifications so it look like this one too! ^^ But you have to know how. Since it's free, you have to do it manualy ^^.

Here are the instructions/requirements to get a forum from me:

go to *PM or email me to get the link* and sign up
After signed up, send me a PM (at my board and send the PM to: WebMaster) including these infomation:

- What you want your forum name going to be

- What you want your password going to be (recommended that it's different from any of your other password, in case you don't trust me ^^)

Note, I can change the domain for you if you would like (like *yourforum*.net.tc or whatever, just tell me.)

Any other infomation will be given to you at my board. All of this for a sign up, fair right? ;)

Conan Edogawa
09-18-2005, 12:06 AM
Arh, do you have to get every little tiny EXACT detail? Can you just...forget everything and enjoy what's in front of you?

Plus you'd need access to the members area. So will people who sign-up get that, i could easily do the same thing and share files, since i have invisionboard 2.1.0 but don't because i know it'd be illegal btw just to say if you're using a program such as Limewire, Shareaza, 360 Share or Imesh it is illegal and people would be fined $200 if it WAS illegal..

Ok, how about this. These versions on IPB 1.3, 2.0.4) Does not require a license to you. You just have to register the forum. Which my people have already done for you. And yes you cannot be able to log in to the member area since it's free. And I don't even know what Limewire, Shareaza, 360 Share or Imesh are so I don't use them. Is that good enough? ^^"

Actually 2.0.4 does require a license the reason i'm asking this is because, i don't want Invision power services to turn around say it's illegal and then charge me $200 or take me to court.

Conan Edogawa

IPB do not have the power to charge you or bring you to court, the max they can do is deletion of your board/account. And no 2.0.4 does not require a license...yet as the requests of the people using it, they said that they're still thinking. My gosh, my friend has his board for over 4 years and nothing happen, you might not be able to read the language but here's his forum: http://vietspaceit.com . Check the bottom, and the thing says "Licensed to: *whatever*" they put it in, I know cuz I helped :>_>:

Know what?
I've got vBulletin license., which means I DO have the files.
I could just go around and install it for people for free.
They wouldn't need to log into the meber's area.

But, huh, it isn't allowed.
You probably don't know how quickly sites running an illegal version of vBulletin get shut down (and so might the ones with IPB).

And not only the people using my files would get jelsoft on their back, but also me, because vBulletin can view my license number and by giving away the files I'm violating the terms of agreement.

If you've got a license and do that stuff you might also get in trouble.

But you know what? IPB is nothing like vBulletin. That's why vBulletin does NOT offer free forums. IPb does. I've been studying IPB for over a year, and let me tell you, IT"S NOTHING LIKE vBulletin rules and stuff

IPB did.
Yes, they offered free forums, but they've stopped that long time ago.
Version 2 and up was always either to be downloaded as a trial or to be paid for.

And don't double post...

You know, some of the free forum provider like Forumer.com or something, they don't even have a license. If you don't believe me, my forum SteelBlade is installed by myself 3 monthes ago, and nothing happen, I bet you that even after a year, nothing' will even happen to it. Do you know how many forum without a license out there?

No one wants to mess with vBulletin, that's why only people have money to buy the license use it. It has agent to go and search for illigal forum (forums without a license). IBP don't even care. Beside if you know how, you can access to IPB files and edit it so it becomes legal (which I did not do with my forums). Anyway, I rest my case, if you want one, good! But if you don't, I have nothing left so say.

Dude, your forums are using the unlicensed 1.3.1 which was accessible for free for a short time.
The License agreement got changed afterwards so ti's not free anymore, but I was.

Well, anyway.
This is no more than advertising.
You can create this thread at your forums, if you want to, but not here.
We might have had a free forum installations thread some time ago (which I consider to be re-created by myself), but it didn't require a registration at another forum.

I'm also not sure about the legality of this thread.
