Suggestion!

I have a suggestion that might improve the site. Since this is a Pokemon forum, and techniquely a game forum right? So why don't we contact the walkthroughs/cheats writter and ask there permissions to post there files here? I mean, look at gamefaq.com and how popular it is...If it's ok, I'll handle the asking permission part :)

I actually prefer having self-written guides here.
Even if we got permission, why should people come here to read guides they can also find at GameFAQs?
If they come here and post them themselves it would be ok though...

Well, that's called a COMPETITION, why do you think there are so many sites that have walkthroughs and cheats so much? This is a nice way because if it will draw more attention of the member to the forum when they are signing up. And they when they find a good walkthrough, they might give their friends the address to get it, refering...

mm, think about this idea... maybe move from a pocket monsters related forum to maybe also video games relation also... a dedicated sub-forum or something...

or maybe even a full forum in the future... lol... maybe people will thinks its dumb, I dunno.

Yes it would, because the creator of those walkthroughs post their files more than one place. GamFAQ is just a place for them to post there files, places like cheatcaptains have them too. It's not about competing really, it's about getting the members who are signing up interested. If they see that we have the walkthrough, why would they go anywhere else right?

They would go elsewhere because elsewhere has more walkthroughs/cheats/tips and elsewhere is more well-known and popular. When you use a search engine look at the sites that pop up =/ They are usually huge organization-like online sites with all sorts of features. What would we be known for even if we did use their walkthroughs? We'd be known for 'their walkthroughs' Usually when something new comes out, elsewhere is the first site to get the info. It really is sort of a competition. We'll need something that you normally don't see that hasn't been done.

Well, what actually makes you think that if we did get walkthroughs... etc, w/e from gamefaqs... you can always denote who is going to have them first... hence, where you got your copy from to post here in the first place... and like chareon said... i doubt we would show up on a search engine anytime soon... lol.

we need something original... not taking ideas from other people and trying to harness them for ourselves...

I don't think that there are new things that the other forums dont' have. People, what's is the harm here? There's only gain if everybody started doing so. But whatever, I have another idea though, just for a little fun for the forum, I think Pika should put in the "Virtual Pet" game, instead of pets, you can make it like Pokemon ^^. I saw they have this game at another vBulletin forum so I thought it would be possible.
